Adventure Ink Code of Conduct

Before setting off on your Adventure to our store, please be sure to review the rules below. These rules are simple, easy to follow, and exist to ensure that everybody has a safe and happy time. Our staff are always on hand and will be more than happy to handle any questions or concerns you may have.

  • Be excellent to each other! Please remember that everyone is here to have fun. Respect the intent of everybody to have a good time with their fellow nerds. Please keep all behavior that polite fans would find offensive in public at home. In other words… don’t do stupid things. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the shop or any event we are hosting at any venue and refuse to refund any money if you behave inappropriately.
  • Make sure your kids are excellent to each other. Unclaimed children will be sold to a sweatshop somewhere printing low-cost Magic cards. Seriously, though… no kids under the age of 6 without a parental escort. Adventure Ink is not a babysitter. Please do not drop off your kids; expect us to help you figure out where they are later. You can’t honestly expect a retail store to do your job as a parent for you.
  • We’ll offer sympathy, but Adventure Ink is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property or for injuries sustained during your time at the shop or one of our events.
  • Adventure Ink may take photographs or videos of participants and/or attendees, individually or in groups, attending or participating in any activities at our shop or any events we are hosting, including programs and activities, or in any public area of the venue. These images and recordings become the property of Adventure Ink and may be used in promotion or publications at our sole discretion. Participating in our events implicitly grants permission for recording and reusing such.

Harassment Policy

Adventure Ink is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or geek fandom. We do not tolerate harassment of anyone in any form. Shoppers and event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the shop or event, without a refund, at the discretion of the Adventure Ink staff.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, geek fandom, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the staff may take any appropriate action, including warning the offender or expulsion from the shop or event with no refund. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a staff member immediately.

Adventure Ink staff will be happy to help contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe during the event. We value your patronage.

Return Policy

Sealed / New Product 

We accept returns of non-comic-book products in new condition within 30 days of delivery. Any returned items must be in their original packaging. Items removed from shrink wrap may not be accepted for return. Returns with a receipt will be issued in the same form as the original payment. Items over $100 and returns without a receipt require special authorization and will be considered case-by-case. Approved returns without a receipt will be issued Store Credit only at the lowest price the item has been sold for in the last 30 days. We cannot refund shipping on returned orders. 

Card Singles and Comic Books 

As a rule, we do not accept returns on card singles or comic books unless you receive a product in a lower grade than it was advertised. Please review the items you ordered promptly upon receiving them and let us know within two business days if you are not satisfied with the condition of any item. Upon return (in the condition in which you received them), we will arrange a refund or exchange. 

Store Credit

Store credit may be used to purchase products we carry in stock and new orders. Store credit cannot be used more than 50% of the MSRP of any Sealed/New Product, including new order products.  Store Credit will expire after 365 days if not spent.  Store credit can never be exchanged for cash.

Unclaimed Purchases Policy

Purpose: This policy outlines the procedure for handling items purchased but not collected from Adventure Ink, LLC, within 30 days of purchase.

Scope: This policy applies to all items purchased at Adventure Ink, LLC locations in Michigan.

Policy Statement:

  1. Notification Process:
  • Customers will be notified via email or phone (based on the contact information provided at the time of purchase) when their purchased items are ready for collection.
  • A reminder notification will be sent if items remain uncollected for 15 days.
  • Final notice will be given 7 days before the 30-day deadline.
  1. Storage and Care:
  • Adventure Ink, LLC will store uncollected items in a secure and appropriate environment for up to 30 days from the date of purchase.
  • The business is not responsible for any damage or degradation that occurs to items in storage due to inherent product qualities.
  1. Disposition of Unclaimed Items:
  • After 30 days, unclaimed items may be handled in one of the following ways, in compliance with Michigan law and federal regulations:
    • Returned to stock for resale.
    • Donated to a charitable organization.
    • Disposed of, if the item is perishable or has become unsellable.
  1. Refunds and Credits:
  • Customers failing to collect their purchases within the 30-day period may not be eligible for a refund or store credit. This will be at the discretion of Adventure Ink, LLC, considering the nature of the product and the circumstances of the non-collection.
  • If a refund or credit is issued, a restocking fee may be applied.
  1. Exceptions:
  • Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly in extenuating circumstances such as medical emergencies or natural disasters.

Review and Amendments:

  • This policy will be reviewed annually and may be amended to remain compliant with Michigan state and federal laws.

Effective Date: 1/22/2024
